Winter in Italy – Adamello Ski Resort

Nowadays finding the perfect ski destination is no easy task, since you can choose among many different excellent winter resorts all over Europe, especially on the Alps between Italy, Austria, Switzerland and France.

Presena, Adamello Ski - Italy

One of the top-ranked resorts of the Alpine region is Adamello Ski in Italy: 100 kilometres of tracks and 30 ski lifts for one of the world’s most beautiful winter sport destination.

The landscape framing this place is unforgettable: half the way between Lombardy (Camonica Valley) and Trentino (Sun Valley), the ski resort overlooks an incredible scenery in the Stelvio National Park and the Adamello Natural Reserve.

I love skiing here: since years I come on these mountains to spend at least a three or four days on the wonderful tracks of this resort. Every time I set my camp in Ponte di Legno, a beautiful village in Camonica Valley.

In 1912 the Italian Touring Club labelled Ponte di Legno as the first Italian winter sport destination. Just the year before the Ski Club Ponte di Legno was founded, one of the first sport clubs in Italian ski history. And right on skiing this little village based its prosperity: today it is crossed by 100 kilometres of tracks and it’s one of the most renown ski destination in Italy.

Ponte di Legno (BS) - Lombardy, Italy

Adamello Ski resort hosts one of Europe’s longest tracks: from the 3000-metre high Presena peak to Ponte di Legno at 1250 metres, a single exciting track 11-kilometre long.

But one of my favourite things about skiing is… taking breaks: taking a quick bite, enjoying the landscape in one of the many mountain huts, where delicious specialities are served in a friendly and comfortable environment.

  • Ristorante Ekro in Pontagna di Temu: traditional food in a very typical environment.
