The nights in Ibiza are best spent in one of the world-class nightclubs, but what about the afternoons and early evenings? You have a number of options, including lying on the beach, going to a beach bar or even carrying out a spot of sightseeing. But there is another option that you should not miss out on: the boat parties.
What Are They?
There is no better way to get into the mood for a night of clubbing than by partying on a boat all afternoon with the perfect combination of music, sea, sunshine and a fun crowd. These boats are not aimed at sightseers – although some do take you to some beautiful places – and instead they are all about having a great time on the waves.
All the boat trips are slightly different. Some will provide food and drink, others will focus on a more luxury experience, some are large, some are small, and they tend to focus on a certain type of music like house, techno or trance. Many, but not all, will provide entry to a nightclub along with your ticket, and they will sometimes provide free transport and the ability to jump the queue.
Choose Your Party
There are many boat parties to choose from, so which are the best? Here’s a guide to some of the top parties that might interest you.
Pukka Up is legendary in Ibiza. It sails numerous times each week from both Ibiza Town and San Antonio, and it is perfect for fans of house music. The parties last for three hours and include CO2 cannons and giveaways, and in the evening you will get entry to Amnesia, Pacha or Ibiza Rocks depending on the day.
Beautiful People is one of the biggest parties, with the boats taking out up to 400 people from Playa d’en Bossa. This is a luxury cruise where an open bar and free food are included. It even takes you out to Formentera and then to see the sunset at Es Vedra. You may even be able to enjoy a spot of swimming or snorkelling.
Float Your Boat Ibiza sails from both San Antonio and Playa d’en Bossa, and it provides free entry to Space in the evening. It goes twice a week, with afternoon parties from Playa d’en Bossa and evening parties from San Antonio, which include a mesmerising sunset. Afterwards, a free bus takes you to Space to carry on the fun.
Ibiza Rocks the Boat is held twice a week and leaves from San Antonio. It is well known for being one of the best parties in town, and it includes entry to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel afterwards where you can catch some of the best live acts in Ibiza.
Noah’s Ark is run by the Zoo Project and is one of the more laid back and relaxed parties. It focuses on electronic music and runs on Saturdays from San Antonio. Free entry to the Zoo Project is included.
Hit the Waves for a Day of Fun
Boat parties in Ibiza are amazing, and they will provide you with one of your best memories of your holiday so make sure you go on at least one. Have a look through which ones are available when you are in town, or book your holiday through an agency that includes entry to a boat party in the price of the package.
