The salt is over 10 meters thick in the center. In the dry season, the salt planes are a completely flat expanse of dry salt. In the wet season when we were there, it’s covered with a thin sheet of water that sits on the surface creating the strangest landscape you’ll ever see!

Eternal adventurer and wanderlust seeker! Always thinking about (and planning) our next adventure, hence the name”Thinking Nomads”!
Wife to Marco and mamma to Isabella and Maya. India, Nepal and Vietnam are my top three countries!
Norway, Iceland and South Africa are top of my bucket list!
This looks really cool!
I can tell you it blew our minds! We had considered not going because it was flooded. But as you can see the water made the experience even better! If you ever get a chance to visit Bolivia it's a must see.
Totally must go there, the reflection on the ground is perfect!
I need to go and see this place. It looks like it would be really fun.
I would highly recommend it! Just be careful which tour company you book through in Uyuni. We've heard some horror stories; everything from drunken drivers to the jeeps getting stuck in the waterlogged parts of the salt flats!
