How to Escape Fall Misery – Trip Ideas for the New Season

There are a few weeks of fall season that are straight up magical. Nature shifts from a blanket of all greens to a fiery landscape of ruby reds and golden yellows, giving off a scent of crisp air mixed with deep woods. But, we can all probably agree that when those limited weeks of magic are over, fall becomes about as magical as rotten food.

Here are a few suggestions that will help you escape the misery of cold, rainy fall weather at least for a little bit.

Whitehaven Beach, Australia

Imagine miles and miles of milky white, silky soft sand, turquoise waters, and a lush acacia forest backdrop. It may be one of the country’s most photographed beaches, but it is also one of the most secluded ones thanks to a strict visitation policy enforced by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority – whom you will also have to register with in order to access the area.

Barbuda, Caribbean

While Antigua may be the most famous of the sister islands, it is Barbuda that boasts the most fantastic, unspoiled beaches. On the Atlantic side, you find miles-long beaches sprinkled with pink sand and lots of beautiful shells and driftwood. If you head over to the Caribbean side, you will instead be surrounded by calm turquoise water full of sea turtles and various tropical fish.

Colombier Beach, St. Barts

Another Caribbean paradise is found in the French territory of Saint Barthélemy. Seeing that it is not accessible by car, reaching Colombier requires either a 25-minute hike along a rugged goat trail or a more comfortable boat ride. Once you get there, though, you will see why it is worth every bit of the hassle. This sweet little cove is perfect for everything from swimming and snorkeling to eating a romantic French picnic on the beach.

White Sand Beach, Bali

As the name reveals, this beach is famed for its sand. While most of the beaches in Bali are layered in dark black sand, this little gem is not. You find this rare white sand beach tucked in a tiny cove on Bali’s east coast. But, you would be wise to pay a visit soon, seeing that any newly discovered paradise beach is sure to be crowded with nosey tourists before you know it.
