There’s a walking path going to the beach so if you like swimming, then you can definitely do it here. The beach is a nice place to enjoy because it has lots of showers and toilets.

2. Explore The White Sands And Tropical Views In Ama Beach Campground

One of the best 6 campsite in Japan is the Ama Beach Campground which is located in Shirajimi Island’s diving mecca. To get here, you need to ride a ferry from Okinawa to Shirajimi Island. The cost of using the campsite is about 300 per person which already includes the shower facilities.

The peak months are during the summer season, July-August. During this time, ask the campground if they have tents available because they’re only limited. You can also rent the cottage which can accommodate 10 people.

Here, you can enjoy the most thrilling water sport activities, such as diving and sea kayaking. You can also do island hopping and whale watching. The main attraction of this beach is the sea turtles that frequent along the beach during high tide

3. Go Family Camping In Nagatoro Auto Camp-jo

For those looking for a view of the river, the Nagatoro Auto Camp-jo is a must-try destination in the Chichibu area of Saitama. It’s ideal for big groups and first timers. The usage of facility cost about 500 yen per person and 300 yen for children. You can stay in the car or in bungalows which can accommodate as much as 40 people.

This campsite is near to Tokyo so it provides a nice weekend retreat from the busy life in the city. You better not include a phone on your camping checklist because there’s no phone reception. Several facilities offered by the camping site include showers, fridges, and playground.

4. Enjoy The Luxury Of Hoshinomiya Fuji

For those who don’t want to give up a luxurious daily life, then the Hoshinomiya Fuji might be your best bet. This site is the first luxury camping resort in Japan. It’s located on the slopes of a hill giving a nice view of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji.

The guestroom is equipped with exceptional amenities including a soft bed and a fully equipped bathroom. The food is made by a chef to provide the best dining experience. There are various activities you can try such as coffee brewing lessons, a walk through the Aokigahara Forest, and horseback hiking.

I highly recommend a private lake tour in the morning. You can enjoy the tranquility of the lake while drifting in a canoe. The price is 3,500 yen for adults and 1,500 yen for children aged 2-5 years old.

5. Get Close With Nature In Treehouse Village Odagiri Garden

When you were a child, have you ever dreamed of living in a treehouse? Well, you can make it possible in Treehouse Village Odagiri Garden . This unique campground features 13 treehouses, two bungalows, and plenty of tent sites. The treehouse costs about 15,00 yen per night while a tent site may cost about 5,000 yen.

Along the path of the campsite, you’ll see a wide range of yellow-green grass meadows, forests, and mountains. The campsite itself is filled with fresh air and majestic views making it a great retreat for the weekend.

You can explore the forest to rekindle your sense of adventure or relax on the tree swing. There is a barbecue area but you have to pay an extra fee of 1,000 yen.

6. Do Nature Activities In Tazawako Campground

If you like nature activities, then you’ll probably love to stay in Tazawako Campground. This site offers several outdoor activities including mountain trekking, kayaking, and canoeing. You can also take a walk around the lake or play tennis on the court.

Facilities of the site include 10 cabins and tent spaces. You can either rent or bring your own tent with a charge of 850-1,100 yen per night. Every Saturday, there’s a barbecue at the campsite.
