North African Delights: Marrakech

An exotic destination just three hours from home, Morocco is rich in culture while also providing an unrivalled beach experience.

Whatever your reasons for travelling to North Africa – perhaps you want to tickle your tastebuds with the incredible cuisine or wish to while away the hours browsing the vibrant souks.

Morocco has something for everyone, with great all-round resorts such as Marrakech providing hotels or guest houses locally known as riads that cater towards every demographic you could think of – families, couples and groups and friends are bound to be able to find quality accommodation that is comfortable, fun and welcoming.

The great thing about many Marrakech hotels is the sheer exuberance of them. You may be used to heading to accommodation that offers a pool or two and a buffet restaurant, but hotels in Marrakech are something else, while still being affordable.

At the top of the pile is the Aqua Fun Club Hotel, costing around £45 a night and nestled inside 10 acres of landscaped gardens. Perfect for families, there are three restaurants to choose from, as well as a fast food court and kids restaurant. The shisha bar offers a little adult fun while the three adult swimming pools, 4 kids pools and oodles of chutes and slides to test yourself on, it’s no wonder some people don’t have time to venture away from the resort at all!

The mid-range Le Village Du Toubkal Spa is situated outside of Marrakech and boasts breathtaking surroundings to admire. On the cusp of Toubkal National Park, it’s designed to reflect a traditional Kasbah and provides a pampering holiday that’s second to none.

If you’re on a strict budget, the 3-star Amine Hotel offers beautiful surroundings at affordable prices, providing traditional hospitality and modern facilities. While just a few minutes from the popular squares in central Marrakech, the new city is easily accessible, too.

With plenty of options to suit all budgets, Marrakech and neighbouring Moroccan resorts are well worth considering as a holiday destination – take a look at the availability, today.

  1. It must be nice to live 3 hours away from Morocco! It was a suuuuper long flight for me. I would have loved to stay at these posh places while visiting Marrakech, instead I settled for budget hotels and splurged on a Riad near Jemaa El Fna. Beautiful!
